Three listed buildings of Franciszek Anczewski's former sweets factory are being brought back to life. After renovation the main building will hold ten lofts and three commercial units, joined by two standalone buildings – each with exposed original brick, industrial detailing and interiors reaching 4.30 m in height.
The factory yard becomes a private green enclave – a courtyard covered in ivy, with paved walkways and year-round planting. Most parking spaces were hidden beneath it so as not to disturb the historic character of the site.

It all began in 1865, when Franciszek Anczewski moved his sweets factory to the right bank of the Vistula – to the street now known as 11 Listopada. The factory was one of the first plants in Warsaw with its own telephone number, and its quality matched brands such as Wedel and Blikle.
In the early twentieth century a single-storey factory building was raised here, its architectural detailing echoing industrial Gothic. Later stages of expansion brought a bakery with an ornamental chimney and a cellared annexe.
Today's Cukry Praga is a tribute to that history – industrial Gothic, original brick and architectural details have been preserved and woven into modern residential functions.
